This album is the product of crossing one of Novamutes most meticulous recording artists, with one of the world’s finest Techno performers. Having already discovered their working relationship on a couple of singles the next step was always going to be something longer, and this album certainly pushes the right buttons. To start with the tempo is kept down adding an allure of funk into the industrial sound bank they’ve worked from, while the album progresses into a more peak time dancefloor style. There’s a constant harsh sound across the CD — where the Metalism title comes from — but in between they meander through abstract and experimental sounds, sometimes quirky and grooving, sometime raw and pounding. Listening to this album is cool but for the real fun you need to hear these two guys jamming together through a six hour set on a quality club soundsystem. K1
