Long awaited debut from Logic Bomb's Jonas Petterson, 'Restarter' lands on the scene like a perfectly formed reminder of what psychedelic music can achieve. From opening title track to laid back finale, Tranan have invested the kind of depth and transporting flow rarely found in a time when identikit productions with all too brief shelf-lives rule. Different tracks take different directions - tensions, releases and surprises characterising each tune. The title track is a tour-de-force, dishing up the works with a balance of gentleness and intensity. Highlights are too numerous to mention, but personal faves 'Splat' and 'Infected by Devils' both show that melody and driving basslines can exist without resorting to cheesey cliche. An extraordinary release that shows Tranan's attention to detail pays off big, with an album which, like Logic Bomb's 'Head Ware,' I expect to still be marvelling at many years from now. Bez
