FISHCOOKIE RECORDINGS
Phooarr! I can see this staying in the DJGRH CD player for some time! From the cheeky trademark intro, to the finale, Jon Bell and percussionist Chris Edwards give us no fewer then 14 masterpieces, live from their performance in San Francisco. It’s hard to put your finger upon what makes this album just so god-damn enjoyable to listen to as there’s so many elements. It could be the cheeky little bits of humour dropped in (surely only the Captain can get away with the now-infamous ‘Hey Mickey’ intro?), or it could be the fact that the production and layout (recorded live from an Ableton Live setup) are second to none, the actual tracks quality themselves and there’s the carefully timed cowbell and other weird and wonderful percussion here too. It’s a thrilling compilation from the Captain and an exemplary output that you’d come to expect. GRH
