This crew hail from Mexico but sound like they're from another planet! First track 'Evolver' features a slow grinding dubby bass-line, Eastend vox, a sitar and vocodered harmonies. Somehow this all works a treat! I checked out their album 'Psychedelic Cowboys' (from which all three trax here are pulled) and thought it was the best Psy artist album I'd heard in some time. Track two 'Crazy Rhythm' steers into rock guitar driven Trance territory with its great bleepy synth-lines and gated female vox. The third track 'If You Want 2' shows off The Melovskys mellower side, cool slow swingin' bass and a very hooky vocal, kinda Morcheeba'esque. It's fresh, original and defies categorization, sure you can loosely chuck the Psy tag on it but that would do it an injustice. Smart, fun, fascinating if this is where Tip is heading there could be great things ahead. SR
